Job Description:

Foothill Credit Union is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Director of Accounting to lead our financial department. As a focal point for our banking operations, this role involves overseeing all accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, and the management of accounting staff. The Director of Accounting will play a critical role in partnering with senior leadership to drive the financial strategy and operations of our member-owned institution, ensuring the financial health and growth of Foothill Credit Union. Lead the accounting operations of the credit union, including the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets. Ensure accuracy and effectiveness in all of our accounting tasks and financial department initiatives. Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, and report variances. Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements and ensure the quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting. Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls. Additional responsibilities as necessary for the health and growth of Foothill Credit Union. Expertise in GAAP and financial regulations. Strong leadership and personnel management skills. Excellent analytical and organizational skills. Proven ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization. High competence in financial software and related systems. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401k Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required. MBA or relevant graduate degree preferred.
