Job Description Underground Electrical Foreperson \n Pay Range: $31-$37 per hour \n Job Location: Wilmington, NC \n Reports To \n The UG Electrical Foreperson will report to Superintendent or Director of Construction. \n Job Overview \n The purpose of this position is to provide guidance, direction and oversight to underground crews operating at the job site. \n Responsibilities and Duties \n \n Work safely while performing new construction, maintenance or repair of underground installation work \n Capable of leading underground service crew to complete infrastructure and duct bank install \n Supervises crew and demonstrates working knowledge of leadership and management skills \n Capable of leading and training lower skilled employees in safe and productive work procedures \n Capable of planning safe work based on a job print or work order \n Coordinates and inspects the work of crew members \n Conducts pre-job or tailgate briefings \n Ensure inspections status; scheduled and completed \n Possess a working knowledge of all aspects of underground distribution \n Troubleshoots problems on underground raceways and circuits \n Understands how to safely operate equipment \n Maintains company vehicles, equipment and tools in good working order \n Ensure special equipment needs are requested \n Ensure project benchmarks are achieved, and job schedule is maintained \n May attend project meetings and communicate information to PM and job foreman \n Provide assistance and oversight of safety initiatives and ensure a safe work environment for all personnel \n This position will be expected to promote an emphasis on creating a team oriented, positive work environment which promotes a culture of safety and open communication \n \n Qualifications \n This position will require experience working in field install and operations, primarily in the construction and service of the commercial electrical industry. Experience with job site layout based upon plan takeoff and interpretation are critical to this position. Experience with excavation operations and the various associated equipment is a must. Experience with trade inspections, dealing with various jurisdictions and inspectors are also areas which are beneficial. While formal education is not a requirement for this position, associated trade certifications are beneficial. The individual should also demonstrate strong leadership, supervisory, communication and problem-solving skills. \n Physical and Environmental Requirements \n This position should be able to sit, bend, stoop and lift items which occasionally exceed 50 pounds. This position should also be able to climb, crawl and squat as the job demands. The work environment is outdoors in all type weather to include extreme heat and cold.
