Job Description:
Epic Special Education Staffing is seeking a dedicated and
skilled Sign Language Interpreter to join our dynamic team, serving
schools and providing invaluable communication support to students
with special needs. This role requires precision, empathy, and an
unwavering commitment to student success. As an integral part of
our educational team, your contributions will directly impact the
educational experience and quality of life for students who depend
on sign language for communication. You will work in various
educational settings, interpreting academic content and social
interactions while also educating staff about deaf culture and
communication needs. Provide accurate and clear interpretation
between spoken English and American Sign Language (ASL) in
classroom settings and other school-related activities. Collaborate
with teachers, staff, and parents to facilitate effective
communication and enhance understanding of curriculum material for
students. Participate in training sessions and stay updated on new
trends and techniques in sign language interpretation. Maintain
professional and ethical standards as set forth by the Registry of
Interpreters for the Deaf (RID). Document all interpretative
sessions and provide feedback to educational staff to ensure
cohesive educational strategies and support. Proficiency in
American Sign Language (ASL) Strong interpersonal and communication
skills Ability to work independently and as part of a
multidisciplinary team Knowledge of special education needs and the
educational environment Flexibility to work with different age
