Job Description Job Description NEEDED: REGISTERED NURSE I -
General LOCATION: 13777 Air Expressway Blvd., Victorville, CA 92394
SCHEDULE: 40 hours per week, 8 hours per day, Monday – Friday, as
needed between 6:00 AM – 10:00 PM, for 120 workdays annually.
Total: 960 hours annually QUALIFICATIONS: Must be certified to
practice medicine in the state of California. Must provide
verification of credentials (education, current licensor/status
competency, continuing medical education). Must have at least one
or more years of experience. Must be Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation
(CPR) certified, in accordance with the American Heart Association
Basic Life Support. Ability and skill to operate EKG JOB DUTIES: S
hall be responsible for, but is not limited to: Provide direct
patient care services in accordance with legal, ethical, and
institutional standards through the evaluation of patients and
therapeutic treatment as ordered by Health Services clinical staff
Perform nursing duties within the scope of the current licensure
Administer medications as prescribed i.e., by mouth, intradermal,
subcutaneously, or intramuscularly Assist with distribution of
medications at pill line Monitor and evaluate the response to
therapy Perform skin testing Provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and
preventive health care services Take medical histories, examine
patients, order and interpret laboratory tests and x-rays Perform
venipuncture for the purpose of obtaining laboratory specimens
Maintain accurate logs of all reports Policy Screen laboratory
tests/results for normal/abnormal lad values and notify the
physician or physicians Ensure all sharps are secured, accounted
for, stored and disposed of according to institutional and national
policy Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality Adhere to
infection control policies and procedures Clinically manage
injuries by bleeding control, bandaging, splinting, and
immobilizing Attend to medical emergencies Work collaboratively
with the staff physician(s) and consulting physician(s) in
planning, instituting, evaluating and revising program plans Assist
in determining conditions, resources and policies essential to
delivery of the health care services Discriminates between normal
and abnormal findings to recognize early stages of serious
physical, emotional, or mental problems Manages the daily operation
of the clinic and conducts daily sick-call; which may include
securing health histories from the patient, recording findings and
providing clinical evaluations Provides a wide range of emergency
services, in the absence of the physician Perform duties as
required, but accept only those nursing assignments that are
commensurate with his/her educational preparation, training,
experience, and licensure laws Preform intakes on newly
incarcerated or transferred inmates Prepare medical documentation
