currently seeking a strategic and results-driven Business
Development Manager 3 in our Advanced Capabilities Business Unit ,
for a Business Development Lead to support the Advanced
Communications and Sensing Operating Unit, Multi-Domain Systems
Operating Unit, and Mission Exploration Operating Unit. This role
blends strategic leadership with actionable execution—challenging
you to identify and capture new business opportunities, influence
customer priorities, and drive innovative solutions that position
Northrop Grumman for sustained growth and mission success.
Specifically, this role focuses on Mission integration for air and
space including non-traditional space services and non-traditional
users. The role is based in Redondo Beach, CA Key Responsibilities:
Support capture teams through every phase of the business
development lifecycle by driving winning strategies, managing
internal review gates, and aligning with customer priorities.
Influence internal investment planning and help shape business
priorities aligned with pipeline opportunities. Develop and execute
comprehensive BD strategies for key target markets, including the
Department of Defense (DoD), U.S. Space Force (USSF), Missile
Defense Agency (MDA), and the Intelligence Community (IC). Conduct
market and competitive analyses to refine strategic decision-making
and uncover new growth areas. Lead the full business development
and capture lifecycle from opportunity identification to proposal
management. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to tailor
company capabilities to meet evolving customer requirements. Build
trust-based relationships with senior government and military
decision-makers, program offices, and contracting officers to
influence requirements and secure new contracts. Represent Northrop
Grumman at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to enhance
market visibility and drive pipeline growth. Mentor and guide a
multidisciplinary team of BD and capture professionals, setting
performance targets and fostering strategic career development.
Coordinate with engineering, program management, finance, and legal
teams to create cohesive, compelling proposals and secure
successful outcomes. Ensure that all business development
initiatives comply with Northrop Grumman standards and government
regulations and leverage your deep familiarity with defense
acquisition processes to guide decision-making. Basic
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a
related field; Master’s degree preferred. 10 years of relevant
experience in business development within the defense and aerospace
industry, focused on IC, DoD, or national security space programs.
Active security clearance (e.g., Top Secret/SCI) is required at the
time of application. Prior military or government service in a
relevant capacity is highly desirable. Proficiency with CRM
software (e.g., Salesforce) and strong data analysis skills.
Ability to travel up to 25% per month. Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with
senior executives and decision-makers in defense and aerospace.
Proven leadership managing multi-disciplinary teams in complex
capture and business development pursuits. Experience in strategic
planning, P&L oversight, and investment/resource allocation.
Excellent communication skills, with a strong track record of
briefings to executive audiences. Familiarity with various
government contract types (FFP, IDIQ, T&M) If you’re passionate

Salary Range: $175,400.00 - $263,200.00 The above salary range
represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers
a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the
scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's
experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime,
shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base
pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions
as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees
in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long
Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety
of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and
disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid
